Introducing Otto Fischer: IT Manager & Full-Stack Engineer

From Curiosity to Career: My Software Engineering Journey

My adventure in tech began with a simple fascination for how things work. That curiosity evolved into a career dedicated to building systems that power some of the world’s most iconic automotive brands. Today, I serve as an IT Manager at MHP – A Porsche Company, where I lead a team of 18 engineers on one of the organization’s most strategically important projects. I also provide frontend leadership across a department of 160+ developers, setting standards and best practices that elevate code quality at scale.

My technical foundation spans the full stack: from Angular and TypeScript on the frontend to Java Spring Boot on the backend, all deployed on AWS with Terraform-managed infrastructure. I deeply believe in Clean Code and Clean Architecture principles—not as theoretical concepts, but as practical tools for creating maintainable, scalable software.

Bridging Technical Excellence and Business Strategy

What sets me apart is my ability to connect technical execution with business strategy. I’ve conducted 150+ technical interviews to assemble world-class teams, led a high-stakes migration that saved an estimated €20M, and consistently ranked as my company’s top performer for 5+ consecutive years.

In 2020, I co-founded Prisma Solutions, where I serve as CTO. We’ve grown the consultancy to €1M+ in annual revenue, delivering everything from large-scale enterprise architectures to nimble startup MVPs. This entrepreneurial experience has sharpened my understanding of business development, client relations, and translating technical capabilities into commercial value.

Education and Continuous Learning

I hold a Master’s degree in Advanced Computer Science from Babeș-Bolyai University (German language program) and am AWS Cloud Practitioner certified. When I’m not coding or leading teams, I’m exploring new technologies, reading about software craftsmanship, or advising clients across the DACH region.
